A the Dahlem Center

We walked today at the Dahlem Center in Jackson, MI, and as usual, had a wonderful time together.

L to R, Mary, Keith, Gail.

The orange vests are for hunting season, and we saw two dead deer on the nature center grounds. Posted by Picasa

Had the two dead deer you saw lying around the grounds been shot, or did they appear to have died of natural causes? I find the idea of someone shooting a deer and just leaving it there reprensible, but I guess if they were a lousy shot, the deer could have run off and then bled to death.

The chronic wasting disease is a big concern out there, if I recall. At least up north where I was. Has it moved south into your area yet? Those prions are freaky little dudes.

they had both clearly been shot and at least one had apparently run there. The nature center is really big, but they were both near the edge of it and could have run in from outside. It was sort of creepy. Dunno much yet about chronic wasting here.
